Pest control for municipal and government buildings

Pestec has had the opportunity to work in municipal pest management for more than a decade in the City and County of San Francisco. In 1996 San Francisco implemented an integrated pest management ordinance which requires an integrated approach to all pest control operations; establishes posting, record keeping, and accountability requirements; and phased out use of the most hazardous pesticides.

From the San Francisco Department of the Environment:

Pestec has been one of the City and County of San Francisco's structural pest management providers since 1998, and has conformed all of its municipal pest management methods to the SF IPM ordinance.

In 2004, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger began a green building initiative which promotes the use of structural IPM in all state buildings, and encourages municipalities throughout California to adopt IPM in municipal pest control efforts. See Green California for more information.

Pestec can advise municipalities on the adoption of an IPM policy and provide integrated pest management plans for cities and counties. Pestec can also act as a Green Shield Certified and EcoWise Certified integrated pest management provider for municipalities throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.
